A programmatic agreement has been signed between the Regions of Attica and Peloponnese to implement a study for mitigating hazards on the coastal road connecting Alepochori, Attica, and Schinos, Corinthia. The aim is to immediately restore problems on the road surface due to landslides and coastal erosion.

The agreement was signed by the Regional Governors Nikos Hardalias and Dimitris Ptochos, in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas and the Mayor Giorgos Gkionis.

The project budget amounts to €430,000 from Attica Region's own resources. It includes the preparation of topographical, road construction, hydraulic, geological, and geotechnical studies by the Peloponnese Development Organization S.A.

Christos Dimas stated that the agreement is a significant step for upgrading the Alepochori – Schinos coastal road section, which has been affected by landslides and extreme weather events.

Nikos Hardalias emphasized that enhancing road safety is a common goal, while Dimitris Ptochos highlighted the importance of the project for citizen safety and the connection between Attica and Peloponnese.
