Military Helicopter Incident in Paphos: Investigation Underway

An alert was triggered in Paphos when an equipment carrier detached from a French H145M military helicopter and fell into a residential area in Peyia.
The incident occurred during a training flight. The equipment carrier, which was empty, fell a few meters away from houses, without causing injuries or damage.
Police members rushed to the scene and collected the armament, which they handed over to the National Guard. The helicopter was one of two acquired by the N.G. in May, manufactured by Airbus Helicopters.
The causes of the incident are under investigation. Authorities are considering two possibilities: technical failure or handling error.
