Asprokremmos Dam Filling Up: Rainfall Provides Relief

The recent continuous rainfall is particularly beneficial for the water balance of the Paphos region, according to the President of EOA Paphos, Charalambos Pittokopitis. He stated to CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY (CYPE) that the rains are significantly boosting water reserves in the dams.
Specifically, at the Asprokremmos Dam, the inflow of water is approaching 10 million cubic meters, and the filling rate exceeds 18%. The flow is also noticeable at the Kannaviou and Evretou dams.
Mr. Pittokopitis appeared cautiously optimistic, estimating that with proper management, there will be no cuts in water supply to households and businesses during the summer period. He also emphasized that the rainfall is expected to boost the primary sector and farmers.
Despite the improvement, water reserves remain low. The President of EOA Paphos called on the Organization, local authorities, and consumers to contribute to reducing overconsumption and water losses. So far, there are no reports of damage from the rainfall.
