Increased Police Checks for Improper Lane Usage ā Fines Issued

Cyprus Police have announced increased checks on highways, focusing on the correct use of traffic lanes, especially in sections with three lanes.
The checks will focus on improper lane usage and illegal overtaking from the left lane. Police urge drivers to be careful and comply with the Road Traffic Code.
A ā¬65 fine is stipulated for violations regarding improper lane usage and illegal overtaking from the left lane.
All vehicles must drive in the left lane, while the use of the second and third right lanes is only permitted for overtaking or yielding. Buses, trucks and vehicles towing trailers are not allowed to drive in the right lane. The use of the emergency lane is only permitted in emergencies.
