Weather Forecast: Low Pressure and Showers in Cyprus

A weak low-pressure system is affecting Cyprus. Today, the weather will be partly cloudy with occasional showers, mainly in the mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island. An isolated thunderstorm is possible.

Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, with temporary strengthening on the western and southern coasts. The sea will be slightly rough to rough.

The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts, and around 8 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear with locally increased low clouds, mainly on the coasts. Winds will continue to blow mainly southwesterly to northwesterly and locally northeasterly, light and temporarily moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will become slightly rough in the west and north and calm to slightly rough in the south and east. The temperature will drop to around 10 degrees Celsius inland, around 13 on the coasts and around 4 in the higher mountains, where frost may form locally.

On Wednesday, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the mountains and inland. On Thursday and Friday, the weather will be mainly clear, with a gradual increase in temperature.
