Disagreement over the cause of the Omodos fire

The Mayor of Omodos, Evgenios Michael, contradicts the Press Representative of the Fire Service, Andreas Kettis, regarding the causes of yesterday's fire in the community.

While Mr. Kettis stated that the fire started from garbage near the road, Mr. Michael, through a post, claims that the fire started next to the Potamiou - Omodos road, in an abandoned orchard, without garbage.

The fire burned one hectare of dry vegetation and affected the yards of three houses.
