Disagreement over Rehabilitation Centers in Cyprus

The Cyprus Patients' Associations Federation (ΟΣΑΚ), the Cyprus Confederation of Organizations of the Disabled (ΚΥΣΟΑ), and the Third Age Observatory have jointly expressed their disagreement regarding the amendments to the bill on Rehabilitation Centers.
In a statement, the organizations stated that the amendments adopted in the Parliamentary Health Committee do not adequately address the gaps in the bill.
Key disagreements:
- Maintaining categories in rehabilitation centers (Category A and B), which is considered to lead to inequalities.
- The determination of topics constituting medical services should be determined by the Ministry of Health and scientific bodies, not by legislation.
- Concern about exempting existing centers (operating under hospital status) from the evaluation process.
The organizations express disappointment that their efforts to influence the bill have not yielded results.
