Rotating power outages continue for a second day, implemented by the System Operator due to high electricity demand and extreme temperatures. The outages began around 6:30 PM, when demand reached 1,096 megawatts, while available production was 1,062 megawatts. Different consumers are affected compared to yesterday. Hospitals, care facilities, hotels, and embassies are exempt.

AKEL criticized the Government for the power outages and the lack of adequate response to the problem.

Simultaneously, water supply issues are emerging. The Water Development Department urges citizens to conserve water and avoid unnecessary use due to high temperatures and prolonged drought. The use of hoses for washing outdoor areas and vehicles is prohibited.
