Power Outages in Paphos, Waterspout in Limassol – Fire Service Recall

Heavy rainfall is affecting the Nicosia district, while hailstorms hit Paphos, causing ongoing power outages. Power outages were also reported in the Nicosia district. EAC crews are working to restore the damages.

The Fire Service is receiving an increased number of calls in Paphos. A staff recall was issued at the Paphos Fire Station, with assistance from EOA Paphos crews. According to Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis, flood response teams have been formed.

Problems have also appeared on the road network, with landslides on the Kalopanagiotis – Gerakion – Kykkos – Kampou – Orkontas road. Police are urging drivers to be careful.

A waterspout was observed in Limassol, while hailstorms continue in parts of Paphos.
