Gaza Protest in Nicosia Today

A protest event for Gaza is scheduled to take place today, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. in Eleftheria Square in Nicosia, organized by the Pancyprian Peace Council.

According to the organizers, the event will include a short gathering followed by a march in Nicosia: Eleftheria Square – Ministry of Finance – PASYDY – Lord Byron Lights – EU House – return to Eleftheria Square.

Police officers will be present to ensure the smooth conduct of the event and to provide traffic facilitation. Participants are urged to comply with police instructions.

According to the Public Gatherings and Processions Law 151(I) of 2025, the organizer is responsible for ensuring the smooth conduct of the event and cooperating with the authorities and the Police.

The Police have the authority to impose restrictions or even dissolve the gathering in cases of non-peaceful conduct, violation of restrictions, risk of physical harm, or damage.

Additionally, the Police may order the removal of objects that make a person unrecognizable, in case of reasonable suspicion that the gathering is about to become non-peaceful.
