Protest over Northern Road Link in Western Nicosia

A group of residents from Akaki, Peristerona, and Astromeritis staged a symbolic protest regarding the northern road link in western Nicosia, shortly before the inauguration of the new Health Center in Akaki, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides.

Ilias Manouchos, a representative of the protesters, emphasized that the northern route of the road was the policy of the Republic of Cyprus until 2017 and is asking for it to be reinstated, as it offers advantages over the southern route.

The protesters handed a letter to President Christodoulides, expressing their opposition to the change of route and warning of a potential scandal. They are requesting his intervention to avoid a 'huge mistake'.
