Large Turnout at Limassol Protest Over Fires

A large crowd participated in a protest event in Limassol this afternoon, reacting to the devastating fire last Wednesday in the city's mountainous region.
The protest was organized by Sofia Perikleous, a 22-year-old student, through social media. The event included a speech at the Heroes Christou and Miltou Christoforou amphitheater, a one-minute silence in memory of the fire victims, and a musical program with Cypriot songs.
A march followed along the coastal park, with protesters gathering at the old port beach and chanting slogans. One of the banners read: "Our homes were lost but you stayed in your chairs."
