4-Year-Old Remains Intubated After Pool Incident in Paphos

A 4-year-old foreign boy remains intubated at Makario Hospital in Nicosia after an incident at a hotel pool in Paphos.

The child was found yesterday at 2 PM by a swimmer at the bottom of the pool. According to preliminary investigations, the 4-year-old was accompanied by his mother and was playing in the shallow end. At some point, the mother was tending to a younger child, and the 4-year-old went unnoticed into the deep end.

A lifeguard was present at the pool. The child's family had just arrived at the hotel from Israel for vacation.
