Mayor of Fyli Opposes Closure of ELTA Post Office in Ano Liosia

The Mayor of Fyli, Christos Pappous, has expressed his opposition to the decision of the Hellenic Post (ELTA) administration to suspend the operation of the Ano Liosia post office.

In a statement, Mr. Pappous called the decision "hasty," arguing that ELTA should have consulted with the local community. The Ano Liosia branch is among the 46 branches closing in Attica and urban centers of the province from 03-11-2025.

The Mayor of Fyli stressed that maintaining state services is a consistent policy of the Municipality and called on the ELTA administration to revoke its decision so that there is time for discussion and finding a solution.

He also referred to the work of the late Giorgos Liosis, former mayor, regarding the presence of state services in the area.
