Larnaca Municipality Awarded 'Green City of Cyprus 2025'

The Larnaca Municipality has been awarded the 'Green City of Cyprus 2025' award at the Pancyprian Green Cities & Green Communities of Cyprus Awards.

The award concerns the project 'Strengthening and Expanding the Institution of Green Beaches', in the category 'Green Areas – Urban Biodiversity'.

The awarded project concerns the upgrade of the coastal and urban area in the Municipal District of Voroklini through tree planting and green interventions. More than 4,500 trees have been planted in the last nine years, with 1,500 of them in 2025.

In addition, energy upgrade actions are being implemented with LED lighting and photovoltaic systems, as well as actions to promote recycling and protect the Voroklini Lake.

The Municipality of Larnaca continues to be in the Network of Green Cities & Communities of Cyprus created by KYKPEE.
