Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality Joins European Waste Management Program

The Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality is participating in the Interreg Euro-MED “EcoMedIslands” European program, aimed at promoting circular solutions and smart waste management on Mediterranean islands.

The kick-off meeting took place in Gozo, Malta, where the waste collection procedures of the Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality were presented. The Municipality's delegation exchanged views with partners and coordinated the next steps for the program.

According to the Municipality, proper waste management is crucial for public health, coastal and marine protection, and the visitor experience, especially during peak tourist season. The EcoMedIslands program supports these actions with modern practices and tools, co-funded by the European Union and national resources.
