EU Supports Cyprus in Fighting Wildfires

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed the European Union's support for Cyprus in tackling the wildfires. The head of the Commission stated that the EU has urgently mobilized support through the Civil Protection Mechanism.

Manfred Weber, President of the European People's Party, also expressed his sympathy to those affected by the fires, emphasizing Europe's solidarity with the Cypriot people.

According to Ms. Von der Leyen, approximately 670 firefighters from 14 countries and a fleet of 22 aircraft and four helicopters have been deployed to assist countries in need.
