Lump Sum Payments to 112 Fire Victims β Payments Expected by Wednesday

Lump sum payments have been made to 112 beneficiaries affected by the fires in mountainous Limassol, with the aim of completing the process by Wednesday, according to the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities.
Mr. Christofinas informed community leaders about the progress of the process in a meeting with the President and executives of DIKO in Agios Amvrosios. As he stated, approximately 112 cases have been processed and sent to the General Accounting Office for payment. A slight delay is observed due to procedural issues, such as completing the FIMAS forms.
According to the Commissioner, approximately 450 houses that sustained damage have been recorded, while some cases have been reported more than once. At the same time, efforts continue to provide immediate housing for those affected, in cooperation with the Civil Defense and the Ministry of Interior.
ETEK conducted the first assessment and is expected to provide information within 20 days on the cost of compensation. Regarding business premises, compensation payments for equipment and raw materials will begin immediately.
The restoration of electricity has reached 90% and is expected to be completed by the end of the week, while the water supply networks have been fully restored.
