Nicosia Inaugurates First Student Residence in the Walled City

The Municipality of Nicosia inaugurated its first Student Residence in the walled city, located at the corner of Voulgaroktonou, Arsinois, and Alexiou Komninou streets.

The project, co-funded by the Republic of Cyprus and the European Union, marks the revitalization of the historic center and the strengthening of student presence.

The inauguration event included addresses by the Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos, and the Minister of Finance, Makis Keraunos, who also officiated the opening.

The residence includes 50 rooms, common areas, and an internal courtyard. The design was created by architect Simos Drousiotis.

Attendees included Deputy Mayor Chrysanthos Fakas, members of the Municipal Council, political officials, academics, and students.
