Hunting Season Begins in Cyprus – Mandatory Game Recording

The hunting season begins on Sunday, and the Game and Fauna Service reminds hunters that recording their catch via the Artemis Cy app is mandatory for all game.
Hunters are urged to comply with the laws and respect their colleagues and private property. The Department of Forests appeals for caution to prevent fires.
Hunting turtle doves is prohibited on August 24 and August 31, 2025, allowed from September 3 to September 21, 2025, with a possible suspension if the catch limit is reached earlier. Recording the catch is mandatory for game management.
If the app cannot be used, hunters can send an SMS with their ID number, the game, the number of animals caught, and whether they are young or adult, to the numbers provided per district.
Hunters are advised to avoid sun exposure, wear light clothing, a hat, and sunglasses, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid alcohol. Also, do not hunt alone and inform someone of their location.
The Department of Forests reminds everyone of the ban on lighting fires and discarding cigarette butts, as well as the obligation to collect empty cartridges. Anyone who notices smoke or fire should call 1407 or 112.
