Update on Tychikos' Health: Father Evangelos' Statement

Father Evangelos, who accompanies the former Metropolitan of Paphos, Tychikos, reported via social media that Tychikos has completed his medical examinations in Athens. Doctors at Onaseio Hospital recommended that he avoid mental stress.

Father Evangelos added that Tychikos' health has improved and that he will visit heart surgeons. If no problems arise, he will return to Cyprus. Tychikos' family covered the medical expenses.

Regarding the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, Father Evangelos noted that omissions were found in the process of the Church of Cyprus, but it was proposed that the same penalty remain for the benefit of Tychikos and the Church. "If I had made an omission, I would at least apologize," he stated.

Bishop Tychikos, in his statement, thanked God, the people for their support, and the medical staff.

It is recalled that the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus decided on May 22 to dismiss and remove Tychikos, requiring a confession of faith condemning secessionism and agreement with the Ecumenical Councils.
