ETEK and professional organizations updated the Ministry of Interior regarding the assessment of restoration costs for damages caused by the fires in mountainous Limassol on July 23, 2025.
According to an announcement, ETEK, headed by President Konstantinos Konstanti, and the presidents of the organizations SAK, Alkis Dikaios, SPOLMHIK, Kyriakos Tsioupanis, SSEOKK, Petros Mikallos, and OSEOK, Stelios Gavriil, met with technologists from the Ministry of Interior.
During the meeting, the progress of the work was presented, and concerns were discussed. The working groups have already examined a significant number of cases.
ETEK has undertaken to prepare a methodology for rapid mass assessment of the restoration costs of the affected buildings. Architects and engineers were trained in the methodology and began preparing statements of estimated restoration costs to their previous condition.
Mr. Konstanti emphasized the role of ETEK and the organizations in addressing the problems caused by the fire. The forms and photographs of the Ministry of Interior will be used to assess the damage.
Priority will be given to first homes that have been partially destroyed, so that affected families can plan their lives again. This will be followed by homes that have been completely destroyed and then the remaining properties.
