Famagusta EOA: 144% Increase in Application Reviews in September

A 144% increase was recorded in September in the review of urban planning and building applications at the Famagusta District Self-Government Organization (EOA), compared to September of the previous year.

According to a written statement by the President of the Famagusta EOA, Yiannis Karousos, 193 applications were completed in September, compared to 79 in September of the previous year. In October, 206 applications were completed, approximately 20% more than in October 2024.

Mr. Karousos stated that the Famagusta EOA is in a transitional stage of reorganization and that from the new year it will implement a new operational model for reviewing applications.

Furthermore, he noted that a Licensing Director has been appointed and the recruitment of 25 technicians and operators has been completed, while another 15 recruitments will be completed by the beginning of January 2026.
