EOA Lemesou: Water Supply Returning to Normal in Fire-Affected Areas

The water supply network is returning to normal after the devastating fires in mountainous Lemesos. The President of EOA Lemesou, Giannis Tsouloftas, and the District Engineer of TAY, Dimitris Andronikou, stated that any problems that arise are expected and are being addressed.

The water supply to the affected communities has been restored since Friday, but excessive consumption for cleaning operations is causing delays in individual areas. Pressure fluctuations are also causing damage.

EOA Lemesou has sent generators to communities supplied by boreholes and pipes to replace those burned. Water meters have also been sent to replace those destroyed by the fire.

Dimitris Andronikou mentioned that increased consumption in lower areas is delaying the water supply to all homes. Staff from TAY and EOA Lemesou are working to restore the system.
