The Paphos EOA (Water Board of Paphos) is on alert in anticipation of weather phenomena expected in Cyprus. Isolated thunderstorms and possible hail are forecast, mainly in coastal areas, while sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos.

According to the meteorological service, the rains are due to low pressure affecting the region, but no dangerous phenomena are expected. New low pressure from northeastern Italy is expected to affect the island until Saturday, with intermittent thunderstorms.

EOA Paphos crews have inspected key points and manholes in the Paphos district, which are clean and ready to cope with the rainfall. The president of EOA Paphos, Charalambos Pittokopitis, stated that four crews are on standby for the municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou, with the possibility of reinforcement if needed.
