The unions ΣΕΓΔΑΜΕΛΙΝ-ΠΕΟ, ΟΜΕΠΕΓΕ-ΣΕΚ, and ΔΕΕ ΕΜΠΟΡΙΚΩΝ ΔΕΟΚ decided in a general assembly to escalate the 48-hour strike to an indefinite one, starting from midnight.

In a joint statement, the unions state that the Department of Labor Relations of the Ministry of Labor declared a "flagrant violation of the Collective Agreement," giving the labor side the right to defend its interests by legal means.

The unions remind that they are continuing the strike measures within the framework of the Industrial Relations Code. They call on Larnaca Public Transport Services and Operations Ltd to respect the decision of the Ministry of Labor and implement the agreements.

They apologize to the passengers for the inconvenience and call for support in the struggle to defend collective agreements and rights.
