Indefinite Strike at Larnaca Public Transport

Workers at Larnaca Public Transport are continuing their strike indefinitely from midnight, following a 48-hour strike that began on Wednesday. The reason, they claim, is the failure to comply with the agreement for a 38-hour work week.
The unions ΣΕΓΔΑΜΕΛΙΝ-ΠΕΟ, ΟΜΕΠΕΓΕ-ΣΕΚ and ΔΕΕ ΕΜΠΟΡΙΚΩΝ ΔΕΟΚ announced that the Department of Labour Relations of the Ministry of Labour declared a blatant violation of the Collective Agreement, giving the labour side the right to defend its interests.
In a statement, the unions call on Larnaca Public Transport Services and Operations Ltd to respect the decision of the Ministry of Labour and implement the agreements. At the same time, they ask for the understanding of the passengers for the inconvenience caused.
