Updated Curricula for Secondary Education Released

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (ΥΠΑΝ) announced on Friday that the updated Curricula for all subjects and grades of Secondary General Education have been posted on the website https://sch.cy/analytika.

The Ministry's goal is to limit the material to the basic, necessary and prerequisite, in order to cultivate skills and promote critical thinking and creativity.

Working groups, consisting of teachers, inspectors, academics and representatives of educational organizations, worked during the school year 2024 - 2025 to complete the second phase of this update.

The project continues through the Recovery and Resilience Fund, with emphasis on digital skills and linking to the labor market.

The Ministry promotes alternative forms of assessment, so that children's skills can be assessed from preschool age. The project is supported by training of education executives and teachers by inspectors and the Pedagogical Institute.
