Updated Curriculum for Secondary Education in Cyprus

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (ΥΠΑΝ) announced on Friday the posting of the updated Curricula for all subjects of Secondary General Education on the website https://sch.cy/analytika.

The Ministry's goal is to limit the material to the basic, necessary and prerequisite, in order to cultivate skills and abilities and promote critical thinking and creativity.

Working groups, consisting of teachers, inspectors, academics and representatives of educational organizations, worked during the school year 2024 - 2025 to complete the second phase of this update.

The updating of the Curricula continues through the Recovery and Resilience Fund, with emphasis on digital skills and linking them to the labor market.

The Ministry promotes the application of alternative forms of assessment, so that the skills and abilities of children can be assessed from preschool age until the end of their schooling. The project is framed with training for education executives and teachers.
