Updated Secondary Education Curriculum Announced

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (ΥΠΑΝ) announced the publication of the updated Curriculum for all subjects and grades of Secondary General Education on the website https://sch.cy/analytika.

The goal is to reduce the material to the basic and necessary, with an emphasis on cultivating skills, abilities, critical thinking, and creativity.

Working groups, consisting of teachers, inspectors, academics, and representatives of educational organizations, worked during the 2024-2025 school year to complete the update.

The update continues through the Recovery and Resilience Fund, with an emphasis on digital skills and linking to the labor market.

The Ministry states that the implementation of alternative forms of assessment, beyond final assessments, is promoted for the assessment of skills from preschool age. The project is supported by training for education staff and teachers.
