Hazardous products found in Cyprus market – Immediate recall

The Department of Labour Inspection (TEE) has announced the immediate recall of nine non-compliant products from the Cypriot market due to their high content of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs).
According to the TEE, these products contain PAHs in concentrations higher than those permitted by law. PAHs are classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic to reproduction chemicals.
The products being recalled are: Car mat JUMBO, Car mat AUTOMAX, Car mat GOOD YEAR, Car steering wheel LOOCAR, Car mat BOTTARI, Car mat ULTIMATE, Car mat FALCON, Car mat GEAR, and Car mat universal.
The TEE has already started the process of withdrawing the products and has informed the Rapid Exchange of Information System for Safety Gate Products (RAPEX) of the European Union.
