The Minister of Interior has requested the Limassol District Self-Government Organisation (EOA) to investigate complaints regarding a planned event at the Grivas monument, which was allegedly being organised without the necessary permit.

The event, scheduled for October 25, concerned the erection of a monument to the unknown soldier. According to reports, the Deputy Ministry of Culture, which oversees the Monument Committee, confirmed that no permit had been granted for the event.

Following the finding that there was no permit, procedures are being initiated to cancel the event, during which the foundation stone of the project would be laid.

DISY stated that it will participate in the event organised by the Limassol City and Province Fighters Association (SAPEL) for the protection of the General Dighenis monument.
