Larnaca Hospital Deaths Under Investigation – Patient Associations Demand Independent Inquiry

Larnaca is in turmoil following continuous complaints about inadequate care and deaths at the city's general hospital. A team from the State Health Services Organisation (OKYPY) is currently at the hospital, while OKYPY's legal department is reviewing the findings of the initial investigation into the death of 42-year-old Georgia during her hospitalization.
The Cyprus Federation of Patient Associations (OSAK) is calling for the appointment of an independent investigator for the Larnaca hospital, following the publication of a complaint regarding the hospitalization conditions of a 92-year-old patient. This follows a previous complaint about the care of a 72-year-old patient.
Dimitris Lambrianidis, OSAK's spokesperson, expressed the federation's concern about the complaints regarding the quality of services provided at Larnaca Hospital. PASYKI (Pancyprian Union of Government Doctors) urges caution, emphasizing that the reports are third-party complaints and not proven facts.
