Patras Labor Center: Businesses Operate in Burning Industrial Area, Endangering Workers

The Patras Labor Center has denounced that factories in the Patras Industrial Area (VIPE) are operating normally while a fire is in progress, endangering workers. It demands the immediate evacuation of the area.

According to the announcement, despite the fact that the risk of rekindling has not been averted and there are active hotspots, workers continue to work. The Labor Center demands that all businesses cease operations and calls on workers to contact them in case of employer arbitrariness.

ETVA VIPE SA announced that the damages are limited to an abandoned building and a warehouse and that the operation of the Business Park is gradually being restored, following all safety measures. According to ETVA VIPE, the water supply was uninterrupted.
