ESK Calls for Answers Regarding Limassol Fires

The Board of Directors of the Union of Journalists (ESK) has called on the authorities to answer media questions regarding the recent fires in mountainous Limassol, stressing that silence is unacceptable, especially when there are many questions.
The ESK denounced the phenomenon of journalistic questions not being answered by competent officials, which conceals critical information of public interest. It noted that the scale of the disaster requires answering questions about all aspects and implications.
The ESK stressed that government and state officials, police and military representatives have a duty to answer journalists' questions, adding that choosing silence implies guilt.
