ETEK: Huge Responsibility in Building Demolition

The president of ETEK, Konstantinos Konstantis, stated to RIK that those undertaking building demolitions bear a huge responsibility. He emphasized the need for strict adherence to terms, schedules, safety measures, and methodology.

Referring to the collapse of part of a building under demolition on Makariou Avenue, he pointed out that the responsibility is even greater due to the proximity to other buildings and commercial streets.

Mr. Konstantis stressed that the demolition company must be licensed and inform the relevant departments in a timely manner. A study team, submission of safety and health plans, and debris management are also required.
