Blue Heart Foundation volunteers battled on the fire front overnight, supporting the Fire Service, Police, and Civil Defence forces.

From the very first moment, the Emergency Response Unit of the Blue Heart Foundation answered the State’s call and took its place on the front line. Uniformed, highly trained, and driven by unwavering dedication and professionalism, the volunteers launched their own coordinated operation under official guidance, working side by side with the Fire Department, Police, Civil Defence, and other agencies.

The Blue Heart teams managed to save homes from the flames, protect lives and property, and lend a helping hand exactly when it was needed most.

Michalis Theodoulou, Head of the Blue Heart Foundation Emergency Unit, spoke of the harsh conditions and serious risks encountered by ground teams. He also highlighted the deep moral reward felt by the volunteers, knowing they had made a real difference at such a critical time.

“It was a hard fight against time, fire, and physical exhaustion. But above all, it was a fight for people. And our greatest reward was to see homes and lives being saved.”

He concluded with a clear message: “If needed again tomorrow or the next hour we’ll be there. Every time the State calls us, we will answer with determination.”

All Blue Heart Foundation actions, trainings, and missions are made possible thanks to the invaluable support of its sponsors and backers.
