National Memorial Service for Georgios Charalambous Christofi Held in Potamitissa

A national memorial service was held in Potamitissa for the Hero Georgios Charalambous Christofi, who fell during the Turkish invasion of 1974.
The memorial service took place at the Holy Church of Panagia Potamitissa, organized by the Potamitissa Community and the hero's family. Representatives of political parties, community authorities, and a large crowd were present.
The eulogy was delivered by Stefanos Stephani, Head of Security Operations and Deputy Representative of PSEA, who honored the memory and self-sacrifice of Georgios Christofi.
Georgios Charalambous Christofi, a reserve commando of the 32nd Commando Squadron, had been missing since 1974. His remains were identified in January 2024 and buried with heroic honors on March 16, 2024.
