National Memorial Service for Georgios Charalambous Christofi in Potamitissa

The annual national memorial service for Hero Georgios Charalambous Christofi, a reserve commando of the 32nd Commando Squadron who fell during the Turkish invasion of 1974, was held today at the Holy Church of Panagia Potamitissa.
The memorial service was organized by the Community of Potamitissa in cooperation with the hero's family, in the presence of representatives of political parties and a large crowd.
The Government was represented by Stefanos Stephani, Head of Security Operations and Deputy Representative of PSEA, who delivered the eulogy, honoring the memory of Georgios Christofi.
Georgios Charalambous Christofi, born in Potamitissa, fell on August 15, 1974, during the second phase of the invasion. His remains were identified in January 2024 and buried with honors on March 16, 2024.
