Limassol Fires: Over €1.2 Million in Donations for Fire Victims

Over €1.2 million has been collected in a special account at the Central Bank of Cyprus to support those affected by the recent fires in the Limassol area. According to statements by the Accountant General Andreas Antoniades to CNA, some donations exceed €100,000.
Mr. Antoniades emphasized that this initiative responds to the public's need to contribute financially to alleviate the suffering of fire victims. The money will be used for purposes directly related to the tragedy and those affected, in addition to state support plans.
The Council of Ministers will decide on the exact use of the donations. The Accountant General assured full transparency and accountability in the management of donations, with the publication of data on the categories of amounts and the use of funds.
In addition, the largest donation made will be made public. The Government will present in detail how the total amount of donations will be allocated after the completion of the payment.
