Heroic Canadair Night Drop in Keratea: Konstantellos Statement

A Canadair pilot performed a heroic night water drop in Keratea, according to statements by the Mayor of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, Grigoris Konstantellos. The mayor emphasized that night drops are unusual and require great skill, but helped to contain the fire.

"Night water drops require great skill, it is not recommended, but these limited the size of the fire at night," Grigoris Konstantellos stated.

The fire in Keratea broke out on Friday afternoon and was brought under control on Saturday morning. It spread over a radius of 7 kilometers in Eastern Attica. Strong firefighting forces and local residents assisted in the extinguishing efforts.
