Severe Weather: Flooding and Traffic Disruptions in Attica

Heavy rainfall caused problems in Attica, with a stream overflowing in Pikermi and landslides in Polygono. Traffic was disrupted in several areas due to the weather conditions.

Specifically, the Varda stream in Pikermi overflowed, resulting in the disruption of traffic on Imerou Pefkou Street in both directions. In Polygono, traffic was disrupted on Agamemnonos Metaxa Street, from the height of Chatzopoulou Street, and on Asimakopoulou Street, from the height of Mariou Varvogli Street, due to landslides and debris.

Heavy rainfall was recorded in many areas of the Attica region, such as Elefsina, Ano Korydallos, Salamina, Perama, Haidari, and Aspropyrgos. Rain was also reported in the center of Athens and in the southern, northern, and eastern suburbs.
