A German real estate agent, accused of misappropriating Greek-Cypriot properties in the occupied territories, has filed complaints regarding her detention conditions in Nicosia Central Prison. Her lawyer, Sotiris Argyrou, submitted a request for conditional release, emphasizing the "degrading treatment" his client has allegedly suffered over the past 18 months.

According to Mr. Argyrou, his client's prescribed medication was unjustifiably discontinued since December 2024, and he mentioned an incident of finding a mouse head in her food. When the detainee tried to report the incident to the police, she was allegedly threatened. In addition, she complained that her canteen order is opened in front of everyone, resulting in theft by other inmates.

Mr. Argyrou submitted to the Court correspondence with the Central Prison and the Commissioner of Administration, as well as the report of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) on the Central Prison. The representative of the prosecuting authority, Anna Matthaiou, stated that some claims are not supported by the correspondence and that answers will be requested from the Prison. The trial continues on January 26.
