Allegations of Firefighting Vehicles Used for Other Tasks

Serious allegations have been made by deputy mayors of the municipalities of Akamas and Polis Chrysochous regarding the use of double-cabin vehicles equipped with firefighting equipment for tasks unrelated to firefighting.

The deputy mayors report that the vehicles, equipped with water tanks, hoses, and pressure machines, which had proven effective for initial response to fires, are now being used for other purposes.

Furthermore, they allege that the firefighting equipment, which was 50% subsidized by the district administration, has been removed from the vehicles.
