Building Collapse in Nicosia: Not Declared Dangerous

Following the collapse of a building section on Apollonos Street in walled Nicosia, the Nicosia Building Organisation (EOA) stated that the building had not been declared dangerous. Officials from the Organisation rushed to the scene immediately after the incident.

The EOA Nicosia emphasizes that the collapse is likely due to a lack of maintenance by the owner. A Civil Engineer from the Organisation conducted an assessment and visual inspection of the building and adjacent structures.

The Organisation will take measures to eliminate the danger and may impose a fine on the owner. It calls on property owners to ensure regular maintenance of their buildings.

In addition, the EOA Nicosia will conduct a visual inspection of similar cases, assigning the work to private Civil Engineers.
