Camping Sites in Cyprus: Availability, Cost, and Alternatives

Camping sites in Cyprus are filling up, with increased demand for summer vacations. The Platania and Stavros tis Psokas sites are available, while Kambi tou Kalogirou is under renovation. The site in Poli Chrysochous remains closed.

Giorgos Konstantinou, Press Officer of the Department of Forests, stated that there are few places left in Platania, which has a capacity of 600 people and 150 caravans. Stavros tis Psokas only accommodates tents.

Camping costs:

  • Caravan (up to 60 sq.m.): 5 euros/day, 20 euros/week, 70 euros/month.
  • Tent (5-20 sq.m.): 3 euros/day, 12 euros/week, 45 euros/month.
  • Sleeping bag/small tent (under 5 sq.m.): 2 euros/day, 8 euros/week, 30 euros/month.

In Stavros tis Psokas, there are six guesthouses with prices of 14 euros/person/night (over 12 years old), 7 euros (6-12 years old), and free for children under 6 years old. Towels and sheets are not provided.

The Department of Forests warns against illegal camping, especially in Akamas, with penalties of imprisonment or fines.
