Northern Cyprus: Speeding fines from cameras to be voided due to delays

A new regulation is being prepared in occupied northern Cyprus to void fines resulting from fixed speed cameras. The aim is to avoid hardship for drivers due to delays in notifying them of the fines.

According to Kibris Postasi, the problem arose because many violations were not communicated to drivers in a timely manner, leading to an accumulation of fines. An amendment to the relevant "law" is being prepared to address the issue.

The new regulation aims to avoid imposing a large number of penalties at once and to protect citizens from potential injustice due to delayed notification. The delay resulted in drivers not being aware of their violations.

The proposed amendment is expected to regulate the issue of old fines and the application of penalties in the future.
