Kenan Ayaz: Returns to Cyprus After Detention in Germany

Kurdish political refugee and activist, Kenan Ayaz, is expected to return to Cyprus on Monday after two years of detention in Germany.
Upon arrival at Larnaca airport, he will be placed under the jurisdiction of the Cypriot authorities. Ayaz was sentenced by a German court to fifty-one months in prison for participating in a terrorist organization.
His lawyers express confidence that the Cypriot authorities will take into account his time in detention and consider his release in accordance with Cypriot law.
