Keratea: Elderly Man Found Dead During Wildfire

An elderly man was found dead on Friday afternoon during the wildfire raging in Keratea, which now threatens Palaia Fokaia.

According to initial reports, the deceased was a resident of the Dogani Kerateas area. The building where the elderly man, approximately 80 years old, lived alone is located near the starting point of the fire.

As stated by the Fire Department's spokesperson, Mr. Vathrakogiannis, the elderly man's body was discovered by firefighters operating in the area. The initial assessment suggests that the man likely did not realize the fire's proximity and was unable to evacuate, resulting in him being trapped inside the building.
