Kettis Clarifies Omodos Fire After Mayor's Denial

Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis has issued clarifications regarding the cause of yesterday's fire in Omodos, following a denial from the Omodos mayor, Evgenios Michael. Mr. Kettis emphasized that the report concerned the starting point of the fire and not the exact cause itself.

According to Mr. Kettis, the investigation was conducted by an officer with 35 years of experience in the Fire Service. The initial announcement stated that the fire started on the side of a road where there was a combination of wild vegetation, dry grass, and a small pile of waste materials.

Following the initial announcement and the mayor's denial, the officer contacted Mr. Michael, with whom it was agreed to visit the site together for further clarification.
